Together in spirit: Meditation protest in solidarity with Black Lives Matter
4 June 2020 •
18:00 - 19:00
Fyren Parkering (Lighthouse Parkinglot)
Pernilla Andersson
Description
We honour the memory of George Floyd and others whose lives were cut short by cruel acts of racist violence and put light on the institutional racism that exists in the US to this day.
George Floyd's last words as his spirit left his body were "I can't breathe".
We will breathe, grieve, reflect and meditate in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.
At 18:00 we meet in the parking area of Kullens Fyr, dressed in all black.
We then do a silent walking meditation and make our way up to the lighthouse (an approximately 20 minute walk that is suitable for children).
At the lighthouse, Stephanie will hold a guided breathwork session to calm our nervous system during this time of sadness and anger. This session ends with a moment of silence.
Practicalities: With Covid 19 still on the loose, we will be adhering to the recommendations of FHM to ensure that we distance ourselves at 2 meters during the breathwork session, no physical contact, bring your own water bottles.
And please dressfor a cloudy early evening. The sun may very well dip behind the clouds, so be sure to have warm layers and comfortable shoes for walking.
As we wish to keep our hearts and minds in the moment, we've made the decision not to livestream this event.
