Nathie Paquette
Nathalie (Nathie) has been practicing yoga and mindfulness for over 14 years. She really wanted to expand her awareness and savour the health benefits of yoga, meditation and sound healing. As a classically trained vocalist, her voice is her instrument for healing and wellbeing. Yoga practice and teaching has taught her a way to connect more deeply with herself and others and allowed her the space to grow during challenging times in her life. She discovered the beauty and fun in the simple things, being present in the here and now. Her passion grew into teaching.
“Yoga is a lifelong journey of awakening and remembering, a fine balance between being and letting be, continuously allowing the space for transformation and expansiveness, it really is the Art of Awareness” Nathie.
She is a registered advanced yoga instructor (RYT 500) with the Yoga Alliance and continues her education through CE workshops and training. Her YTT 200hr was in Maui Hawaii with Maui Yoga Shala (under Nadia Toraman (Owner & Founder), Jennifer Bonadio and Shakta, where she experienced the deeper connection of living with Aloha, expanding our awareness and generating abundance and collective healing. Her YTT 300hr was with My Vinyasa Practice (under Michelle Young (Owner & Founder), where she learned the many benefits of online community and other modalities that involve overall wellbeing and healing. Nathie recognizes that yoga is part of practicing compassionate self forgiveness, loving kindness, cultivating inner peace, and extending this out to others.
She developed her own Youtube channel (Aloha Nathie Yoga) during covid to assist the public with free home yoga & wellness practices during times of stress and isolation.
Nathie continues to pursue interests in yoga therapy, sound healing methodologies and yoga Nidra, as a way to deepen connection, wellbeing and balance.
She holds space for every Soul in her classes, and fosters the Spirit of Aloha in all.

Description
Welcome! Yoga for mobility and joint health is the ultimate physical primer. This hatha-inspired class swaps rapid cardio flows for controlled, active movements designed to expand your joint range of motion and unlock tight spaces. Built specifically to protect your body in everyday life and enhance athletic endeavors or activities, this class is the perfect pre-workout warmup for endurance sessions, lifters and athletes, or a standalone joint-longevity practice for anyone looking to move pain-free or with more ease.
This practice is focused on muscle engagement rather than sinking passively into ligaments. Sessions can incorporate Controlled Articular Rotations (CARs) to help with joint space and body awareness. We focus on major muscle groups, along with hips, thoracic spine and major joints such as shoulders, wrists, hip sockets, knees and ankles. This class is inspired by functional yoga where movement is driven by muscle activation and awareness. No weights, no fast paced movements, simply balanced in your body. Props will be highly encouraged for proper muscle engagement and to isolate specific muscle tissue. All are welcome:)
See you soon!

Welcome to Yin & Yang Yoga at Align!
Balance is personal, changing and discovered through awareness. We all have different, sometimes contrasting needs, and showing up on our mats with the intention of openness and exploration is key in yin yang yoga practice.
Philosophically, yin and yang describe how opposite qualities are interconnected, complementary, and evolving natures that exist together to form a whole. Through this class, the challenge is to invite changing states, and allow movement and stillness to occur together to create a more balanced life.
What resonates one day, may not in another. Part of yin yang is to witness your fluidity and your becoming; the transition from effort to ease and vise versa, the space between contrasting states, and finding your middle ground, despite conflicting external stimuli or internal struggles. This is a space for you to allow all the parts to exist together.
This class will incorporate different levels of effort and ease. Yang can have a range from strength-building movements to dynamic flow sequences that build heat and Yin poses to target the cooler calming energy, the long passive holds for the deeper connective tissues, bones and joints. Both together offer better sleep, reduced stress, greater body and mind awareness, and greater flexibility and mobility. Props are offered but feel free to bring your own.
Join me in this balanced practice, all are welcomed!

Annie spent over 20 years in the nursing field, with experience in urgent, home, geriatric and palliative care. Within geriatric and palliative care she was fascinated with the dementia units where she spent many years. There she was able to observe how calm loving energy affected her patients' demeanour. This observation was the determinant that propelled her towards a more holistic approach to health care and well-being. She began educating herself on wellness, natural remedies, energy, meditation and this is when she discovered the all-encompassing benefits of yoga. Within this educational journey, she spent 1 month at Triguna Yoga, an ashram in Rishikesh, India, where she obtained her YTT. This was followed by another month deepening her practice, utilizing the three facets of yoga, asanas, pranayamas, and meditations in Thailand. She has always been a empathetic caregiver/healer at heart and now experienced yogi with natural tendencies to empower you in coming into your own power.
