Pause: A Flow Practice for Vata (11/7/23)

It's Vata season! The wind is cold, and our thoughts can start to get blown around like the leaves outside our window. This class starts out slowly with a body scan that uses the bones to connect to the earth element. We move through a few spanda pavanmuktasana movements that are good for calming the winds of vata in the mind/body. Some standing flow movements with the breath, and finally a relaxation and earth mudra meditation. Breath focus on the pause between the in & out, and the out & in.

Note: This class may not be the best choice if you are having low back issues - we do some seated poses near the beginning, which can be aggravating for the low back, and we flow through a few poses a little more quickly.
