Allison Miller

April 2 2026 • Duration: 51 Minutes

An introduction to Agni and a practice designed to bring awareness to the fire within — helping us reconnect with our inner energy and vitality.
In this class, we'll work with the mantra "Om Agnaye Namaha" (I honor the fire within), alongside breathwork and subtle practices that draw our awareness toward the navel center, the seat of our digestive fire.

Understanding Your Agni:
One of the beautiful nuances of this teaching is that Agni isn't simply "on" or "off" — it can be too strong, too weak, or, when we're fortunate, balanced and functioning beautifully.
When Agni is balanced, the skin is radiant, energy is steady, and digestion flows with ease.
When Agni runs too hot, you may notice burning sensations, loose bowel movements, ulcers, blisters, dry mouth, or emotional flare-ups like frustration and anger.
When Agni is too weak, food sits heavy and stagnant, eventually creating blockages that build ama — toxins in the body. This can show up as constipation, body stiffness, allergies, chronic fatigue, mental dullness, and weight gain.
In Ayurveda, imbalanced Agni is considered the very beginning of the disease process. Tending to our inner fire isn't just a spiritual practice — it's a cornerstone of our overall health and wellbeing.
