Description
Ashtanga Mysore Yoga is the traditional method of teaching and learning ashtanga yoga. Everyone is doing their own practice while the teacher is giving individual advice. Students receive individual advice on practice with technical oral instructions and hands on support (unless not wanted), guidance of a teacher one-on-one, respecting silence as much as possible. Progression through the practice occurs at an individual pace. Postures are added incrementally according to each practitioners ability and readiness while it's never the goal to just add postures - this is not the purpose of yoga, yoga goes beyond asana (postures). This readiness considers the mental and emotional aspects as well as the physical capacity, the breath playing a most fundamental role here.
Students new to Ashtanga and to Mysore style practice are welcome and encouraged to come along.
This incremental elaboration and extension of practice offers the safest and most sustainable approach. It allows the body and the nervous system to integrate this potent transformative methodology in a compassionate and life-supporting way that suits the individual - each student's practice will be different yet in essence the same. Moreover, this apporach offers the potential for genuine Parinamah ( transformation ) and for healing to occur.
Practical Informtation:
*The teacher starts giving individual advice from 07.00h onwards
*Only practitioners who have a membership, whom we know for longer than 1 month and who are not beginners can start their practice prior to 07.00h (this does not apply to class card holders).
*Membership holders can arrive at the school as of 6.25h (not earlier).
*Non-members and class card holders can arrive at the school as of 6.50h (come to the school 6.50h the earliest), not earlier.
*The teacher gives individual advice until 7.50h (everyone is in savasana by 7.50h).
*Please respect and organize yourself to leave the school by 8.00h.
*Before entering the practice space fill out the triage and put it at the front of the mat so the teacher can collect it.
*It is required to wear a face mask until you have your mat set up and when leaving your mat after practice (thus wear a face mask when entering and exiting the yoga school).
*Wash your hands and go to the toilet at home before coming to the school.
*When entering the yoga school: Take off your shoes and take all of your belongings with you to the practice space. Before entering the practice space disinfect your hands in the kitchen.
*Only take to the school what you need.
*Come practice in clean clothes.
*Have a small clean hand towel with you for drying your hands and cleaning and a good size (as we sell at the school) clean towel for adjustments with you. If you don't want adjustments please let the teacher know - we absolutely respect your wish.
*Don't come to the school if you have any symptoms that can be linked to COVID-19 (fever, cough, runny nose), if anyone in your household has symptoms associated with COVID-19, you feel unwell or you doubt your health.

*It is required to wear a face mask until you have your mat set up and when leaving your mat after practice (thus wear a face mask when entering and exiting the yoga school).
*Before entering the practice space fill out the triage and put it at the front of the mat so the teacher can collect it.
*Practice compassion towards yourself and others.
*Teaching starts at 07.00h
*Only practitioners who have a membership, whom we know for longer than 1 month and who are not beginners can start their practice prior to 07.00h (this does not apply to class card holders).

*Non-members and class card holders can arrive at the school as of 6.50h (come to the school 6.50h the earliest), not earlier.
*Teaching is until 7.50h (everyone is in savasana by 7.50h).

Description
Ashtanga Mysore Yoga is the traditional method of teaching and learning ashtanga yoga. Students are guided through practice with technical oral instructions and hands on support (unless not wanted) and guidance of a teacher one-on-one in a group setting, respecting silence as much as possible.

Description
Doors open at 6.45h. We start at 7.00 sharp together, so be there a bit earlier.
This class is for students who already practice in the Mysore style and not suitable for complete beginners. To join the led primary, one should have joined the Mysore classes at least for two weeks (3 times per week) at the shala prior to joining the led class - otherwise it doesn't really make sense.
In the led class you practice until where you usually practice in Mysore and then observe. So much is learned by observing.
The class is a great benefit to understand the energy of and harvest focus in the transitions between the state of an asana - this is often where we loose focus. How we get in and out a situation is very important for the situation and what develops from there.
Altogether a very beneficial and complementary class for the Mysore practice.
Practical information:
* You can leave your shoes/bag in the dressing room (unlike Mysore classes)
*It is required to wear a face mask until you have your mat set up and when leaving your mat after practice (thus wear a face mask when entering and exiting the yoga school).
* Before entering the practice space disinfect your hands in the kitchen and fill out the triage and put it at the front of the mat so the teacher can collect it.
