Leah (E-RYT 200, RYT 500) has practiced yoga, off and on, for 25 years, but in 2018 decided to gain more knowledge about the actual history and lifestyle of yoga by pursuing her 200-hour teacher training. She loved the training so much that in 2019, she completed another round of training and is now a registered 500-hour instructor. Her desire is to bring positive energy and compassion to the mat for everyone from beginner level to advanced. Leah loves the ancient teachings and sharing how yoga can help with healing both physically and mentally, from physical and/or emotional trauma, and how yoga is a powerful tool for achieving overall health. Yoga is wonderful exercise, but there is so much more to gain than physical fitness! Leah is certified in Yin, Restorative and Trauma Informed Yoga. Description
Vinyasa Flow works through flowing between traditional yogic postures by matching breath to movement throughout the practice. Rachel (CYT 500) began practicing yoga in 2014 at Brick House Yoga in Sulphur Springs. She was training for a half-marathon at the time and wanted to use yoga to prevent injury and aid in stress relief to reduce migraine headaches. While a yoga practice was perfect for both of these goals, she found so much more on the mat. Without a doubt, the yoga mat is the first place she has ever experienced complete non-judgment. It is where she learned self-acceptance, presence and stillness--and it is where she started a journey of self-discovery that continues today. In short, yoga changed her life. She holds additional certification in Restorative, Yin and Trauma Informed Yoga and has a special interest in teaching body-positive classes and classes geared for beginners.
Description
Active Flow is a little faster paced yoga practice that is a combination of sitting and standing poses that will increase flexibility, balance, and strength. We will work on our ability to transition seamlessly from sitting poses to standing poses. Active Flow encourages listening to your body and approaching more challenging poses with a sense of joy and inquiry. You will be encouraged to connect with your breath, observe your body's ability to move, and to use variations offered within class instruction in order to practice safely. This class is suitable for all fitness levels.

Allison (RYT 200) is a wife, girl mom, grandmother, nature lover and adventure seeker. Allison received her 200-RYT certification in August 2019 from Purple Lotus Yoga. She found her love for yoga purely by accident in 2012 when she was looking to change up my usual workout routine. As she attended classes, workshops and retreats she found that there was so much more to yoga than just the physical aspect and started noticing a change in her mental well-being and overall health. While she loves a sweaty power flow class, she also enjoy a nice relaxing restorative class and pretty much everything in between! Allison hopes to share her love for yoga with others as she continues to grow in her own practice. When she's not on the mat, she enjoys traveling and exploring new places, reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors.

This class will focus on working through traditional postures seated and standing by matching breath to movement throughout the practice. Class will start with slow centering techniques, including stress release and intention-setting, in order to get the most out of the practice and carry the benefit throughout the rest of our day/week. Join Leah for a slow-moving but powerful classic yin yoga flow on Wednesday mornings. Traditional asanas are practiced, but held for longer periods of time, increasing flexibility and bringing a more meditative approach to your practice. Stretch & Flow is a gentle class taking on a slower pace. This class focuses mainly on floor-based stretching and asanas (postures) coupled with pranayama (breathing) that will help loosen the entire body and reduce tension and stress. At times, class may also explore gentle standing flow, meditation and aspects of yin and/or restorative yoga for relaxation and healing. Class always ends in a relaxing 10-minute savasana.

Confidence Flow will work through Sun Salutations, fun transitions, big poses (star, goddess, warriors) taking up space using all four corners of your mat, and building up a moderate heat. We will practice being confident on the mat to build pathways to take with us off the mat. This class is for everyone and I will offer modifications and suggestions to make the practice your own.
