Description
Taking the 8 Buddhist Precepts for Ethical Living for a 24-hour period creates an opportunity to simplify our daily lives so that effort can be put into training in the mind. Practicing the precepts is an opportunity to strengthen our mindfulness and help us clarify a path of harmlessness towards ourselves and others.
You can practice these precepts while keeping your ordinary commitments (e.g. family time, work, exercise). Beyond that, you are encouraged to take some time in your day for quiet contemplation (e.g. seat or walking meditation).
Thursday, June 24, 2021
5:30-6:00am (Sunrise)
There will be a guided meditation, brief instructions for practice and a short ritual ceremony. The precepts are then kept until dawn the next day.
Offered freely; donations to support the teacher and Hut are welcome.
