I have lived in West Roxbury for nearly 15 years, and I love the area as well as surrounding neighborhoods. My love for yoga began at a little studio in West Roxbury called, ‘Yoga for You’, a Bikram studio. I loved the classes, the heat, the instructors, and the community it created. Many years later after being introduced to a Vinyasa style of yoga I quickly became interested in this brand new (to me) style of yoga! My certification began as a quest to learn more about the practice as well as to one day teach it.
Description
Power Flow at Tree Yoga is an energizing vinyasa-based class designed to build strength, stamina, and focus. Breath and movement are seamlessly linked as you flow through creative sequences that challenge the body and steady the mind. Expect a dynamic practice that includes strong standing postures, core work, and empowering transitions, balanced with mindful moments to reconnect with your breath. This class will leave you feeling grounded, energized, and deeply refreshed. Suitable for students who are comfortable moving at a steady pace and ready to explore their strength both on and off the mat.

Christiana has been practicing yoga for several years, but it wasn’t until a deeply transitional period living in New York City that her practice truly became a source of grounding and healing. What began as a physical outlet evolved into something much more - a space to breathe, process emotions, and reconnect with her truest self. Inspired to explore yoga philosophy further, Christiana completed her 200 RYT through Yoga Renew in Hoboken, NJ. For her, teaching has become a natural extension of her personal journey - a way to hold space for others as they explore the layers of their own practice. She believes yoga isn’t always comfortable, and that’s often where the transformation begins. To her, yoga is a reminder of our innate connection to Mother Earth - how, like nature, we move through seasons of change, stillness, and growth.
Description
Gentle Flow is a slow, mindful yoga class designed to help you relax, release tension, and move with ease. In this class, we connect breath with gentle movement as we flow through simple, accessible poses at a comfortable pace. Transitions are smooth and unhurried, allowing time to settle into each posture and listen to your body.
The practice focuses on improving flexibility, mobility, and balance while creating a calm and supportive atmosphere. Modifications and options are offered throughout the class, making it suitable for beginners as well as anyone looking for a softer, more restorative style of movement.
Expect slow flows, gentle stretching, and a peaceful closing relaxation to leave you feeling refreshed, grounded, and restored.

Running and swimming competitively for years, teaching elementary school, and chasing my 3 young kids around led me to my first yoga class about 10 years ago. I was constantly on the go and not very present for myself or those around me. Something in me kept bringing me back to my mat. I was beginning to become more aware of how yoga was the magic connection of the mind, body, and soul. Meditative breath work, focusing on strengthening postures, and enjoying the benefits of a restful savasana taught me how to steady myself on and off the mat. I kept going to yoga classes because I felt a shift after each class and I wanted and needed to keep feeling good! I was eager to deepen my practice and knowledge even further, therefore I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2022 and have been teaching all levels vinyasa flow yoga ever since! In addition to teaching adults yoga, I am also a certified children's yoga instructor. I love guiding people of all ages on their yoga journeys and meeting them wherever they are at on their mats!
Description
This all levels vinyasa class will encompass strengthening, balancing, and meditative postures while connecting breath to movement. Modifications for poses will be offered for more of a challenge or for more support throughout our 60 minute class. You'll feel stronger, steadier, and better equipped to dial down the noise of life, on and off your mat!

The therapeutic effects of yoga, and the overall balance that it brought about in her body, amazed Sonia, and from then on she was inspired to deeply pursue and evolve her yoga practice. Through teaching yoga, Sonia hopes to spread happiness and the desire for all to “live a beautiful life” – an ideal that she learned from her father, who always chose a path of joy and love for his own life. Yoga has been a steady support in my life since graduating college in the late 90s. I began my journey with more athletic forms of yoga, including Bikram and heated Vinyasa. Over time, as I moved through different stages of life, from pregnancy to being a new mom and now into midlife, my practice has naturally shifted and evolved to include more restorative practices. My teaching emphasizes mental and emotional balance as much as bringing physical comfort to your body. When I am not teaching, I work one on one with clients in my private yoga therapy practice in J.P.
My love for learning has led me to many certifications over the past 20 years, including a 200-hour YTT from YogaSpirit Studios in 2005, 500-hour YTT from Barbara Benagh, and a 600-hour Yoga Therapy certification from Phoenix Rising in 2020. Additional certifications include Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapy Training, Thai Yoga Massage, Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, The Art of Assists, Yoga for Anxiety and Depression, and Reiki Level 1.
Description
In this class, you will be led through a series of long-held poses using a variety of props to support your body’s comfort. This practice is very slow with a lot of stillness. By holding poses for approximately 5 minutes each, you have the opportunity to cultivate deep relaxation. Restorative yoga centers breath, presence, and healing the nervous system. This class is appropriate for all levels of experience.

I received my 200 hour YTT certification through LifeTime Athletic in 2019 after practicing for many years and wanting to deepen my practice. Many people feel they aren’t good at yoga but I believe there is no good or bad way to “do” yoga. It’s not about flexibility or athleticism, although both of those will improve with yoga. It’s about connecting with yourself through breath and movement and calming your mind. The practice is just that, a “practice” and every class is a journey of self discovery and awareness. It all starts with coming to your mat and I hope to see you there!
Description
LoriAnn’s classes offer a warm and inviting space for all practitioners to connect to themselves through asanas and stillness and always linked with breath. Students are encouraged to move at their own pace and to honor whatever they are feeling in the moment, to find their own edge, and to move mindfully. And of course to enjoy their time on their mat through exploration and self discovery and allowing for whatever is to be.
