Clare believes in guiding a somatic Chair Yoga practice that helps us take a compassionate and nurturing approach to our selves whilst addressing “stuck patterns” in our bodies. Clare worked in the NHS for more than 30 years, initially in nursing and then in public health. She then trained to become a yoga teacher in 2017 with Seasonal Yoga. She has continued her development around making yoga more accessible with training in Exercise to Music, Personal Training, Yoga for Desk Workers, Chair Yoga Dance and Yoga and Somatics for Healing and Recovery. Clare is also a qualified hypnotherapist and has a special interest in chronic pain.

Sam had been practicing with Yoga Meditation Healing since 2009 and completed their inaugural 200-Hours Yoga Teacher Training in 2022. In her classes, Sam aims to create a safe space to open up and to explore the movements and shapes that our bodies can make. With Sam’s nurturing energy, each individual is supported in developing their own unique balance between challenge and deep relaxation, rest and release while navigating the physical, mental and energetic journey that is yoga. Sam also offers Ayurvedic Yoga Massage at the studio.

Pól founded Yoga Meditation Healing in 2008. He qualified as a yoga teacher in 2007 during a 6 month stay in Mysore, India and trained under Bharath Shetty of Yoga Indea, completing a 320 hour course in Classical Hatha Yoga. Pól returned to Mysore in 2012 to complete a 500 hour Advanced Classical Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training course with Bharath. Between 2012 and 2014, Pól studied Vinyasa Krama Yoga under Srivatsa Ramaswami, who is the longest standing student of the legendary Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya.

Paula is the co-owner and manager of Yoga Meditation Healing and a full-time yoga teacher. She is the creator and director of our very own Yoga Teacher Training Course which provides an authentic, accessible and supportive framework to equip trainees with knowledge, skills and confidence in developing their unique voice and style as a yoga teacher. Paula teaches from a functional, therapeutic, somatic, invitational, explorative and accessible approach. Her clarity of guidance ensures appropriate variations and adaptations for students to find their own level of depth and ease within their practice. She encourages breath awareness, somatic exploration and self-enquiry to facilitate self awareness. Paula teaches Somatic, Therapeutic, Yin, Restorative and Vinyasa Flow classes. Paula is a Therapeutic Yoga Specialist and regularly works with those experiencing stress, anxiety, fatigue and chronic tension. Paula’s teachings assist in the regulation of the nervous system, working with breathing practices and subtle somatic movements to soothe the mind-body and create more ease and well-being. Paula is committed to her continuing professional development and has immersed herself in further study and trainings since she graduated in 2011 with Brenda Louw. She enjoys learning and allowing her practice and teaching to evolve. Paula continually integrates new knowledge and insights into her teachings. She has completed Advanced Yoga Teacher Training studies with Brenda Louw and studied The Essentials of Vinyasa Krama Yoga and Core Vinyasa with Srivatsa Ramaswami along with other specialist training in Anatomy, Yin Yoga, AcuYin [Yin Yoga and Myofascial Release], Restorative Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, Somatics & Recovery and most recently in SATYA (Somatic Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement) with Tias Little of Prajna Yoga.

Elizabeth is a qualified primary school teacher and has over 15 years working in various roles across the education sector. In the classroom, she encompasses the principles of yoga and has seen firsthand the benefits yoga and meditation can have on children’s wellbeing. Elizabeth has been a student at Yoga Meditation and Healing since 2019 and has recently completed their 200 hours yoga teacher training. Elizabeth's yoga classes are energetic and creative. She teaches with an explorative and playful approach that encourages students to embody their practice through internal awareness. Throughout her career and as a mother of two, she has formed a calm and nurturing approach and whether sharing yoga with adults or children, her methodology is embedded in compassion and inclusion.

Dan has a deep passion for yoga, meditation and sound, and their capacity to foster connection, realisation, and transformation. Through experiencing the polarities of recovery, spiritual discipline, and neurodivergence, yoga is teaching him to navigate life with fluidity, balance, and equanimity. His 10+ years as a yoga student spans philosophical, devotional, and musical traditions, with over 500hrs of formal training in mind-body practices. Trauma-informed trainings – including yoga therapy and mindfulness for addiction recovery, as well as meditation and peer-support facilitation for mental health– have given him tools for emotional regulation and nurturing embodied presence. During his BA (hons) in Applied Music, he expanded on his study of Hindustani Classical and mantra music, by exploring the yoga of sound as a therapeutic modality and examining the social dynamics of community music-making. In his events, he weaves together yoga, meditation, sound and interactive music to create immersive, socially engaged experiences. In an increasingly individualistic, atomised society, Dan believes deeply in the power of nurturing both inner and outer connection. He shares practices across diverse communities – including care-experienced youth, New Scots, people with additional support needs, and those in mental health, addiction recovery, and criminal justice settings – bridging ancient and contemporary ideas to foster accessible entry points for people to find the yoga that works for them.
