Leslie Phillips
Leslie’s yoga journey began in 2010, initially to support her running practice—helping her body recover, stay balanced, and prevent injury. Over time, she discovered that yoga offers so much more than physical benefits; it nurtures the mind and spirit, providing tools for resilience, mindfulness, and inner peace.
Since 2022, Leslie has been teaching children’s yoga at Brompton Community School, guiding young minds in mindfulness, movement, and self-awareness. In 2023, she began leading chair yoga classes at The Fredericksburg Food Co-op, bringing gentle movement and wellness to participants of all abilities. She also teaches an Introduction to Yoga class at the Brisben Center in Fredericksburg, offering residents a chance to explore how yoga can bring calm, hope, and balance during challenging times.
Leslie’s practice and teaching are deeply inspired by her mentor, Deborah Testa, and her time at Heal Me Yoga. She received her Children’s Mindfulness Certificate in 2022, graduated from her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2023, and completed her Children’s Yoga Teacher Training in 2024.
Grounded in the classical 8 limbs of yoga, Leslie continues to study and refine her practice, bringing a balanced, accessible approach to her classes that integrates strength, flexibility, breathwork, and meditation. Her teaching encourages students of all ages and abilities to discover the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of yoga in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Description
We're on a mission to nurture happy, healthy, and balanced children. Through yoga, we help children build strong, flexible bodies while learning to connect with their breath. Our mindfulness activities create a safe space for them to explore emotions, develop mental clarity, and cultivate calm in a fast-paced world.
We make focus fun with engaging concentration games, while art, dance, and sound therapy become tools for self-expression and emotional well-being. Because healthy relationships matter, our interactive games are designed to foster connection with themselves, their peers, and the world around them.
At the Children's Health & Wellness Club, we believe in empowering the next generation with tools to grow stronger, feel calmer, and shine brighter every day.

Jan Rosehart
I was born and raised in New York State, and life has since guided me to my home in Virginia. I’m married, blessed with four wonderful children, and delighted to be a grandmother to three beautiful little souls.
I am a yoga teacher though, in many ways, I feel yoga found me. While exploring different movement and fitness styles, yoga appeared almost by accident… yet it immediately felt different, familiar, and deeply right. What began as curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong path.
I have been practicing and teaching for several years now, and the learning never stops. My offerings include Yin Yoga, Self Awakening Yoga, an approach that expands consciousness through the body’s innate wisdom and Hatha Yoga. Each style allows me to guide students into deeper awareness, gentleness, and personal transformation.
Yoga continues to evolve with me, and I’m grateful every day for the opportunity to share its healing, clarity, and quiet magic with others.
Description
This class is for everyone. Yin is a slow, meditative practice done on cool bones. This practice is based on three principles called Tattvas.
1. Come to the appropriate depth or edge for you,
2. Settle into a sweet spot, and resolve to stay,
3. Let go, be patient, let time flow.
Yin targets the deepest fascia connective tissue in and around muscles, ligaments and tendons. It is based on the Taoist tradition. Shapes (postures) are held for periods of time beginning with a three minute hold.
"Yin is not supposed to be comfortable and is practiced to the edge of uncomfortable/comfortable." - Bernie Clark. Yin focus is less muscle energy, less movement.

With a background in dance, Kristen began her yoga journey at the age of 15 during a dance workshop. The class was more than just physical exercise, it awakened her awareness of body movement, internal energy, and the energy surrounding her. From that moment, she was captivated. At 18, Kristen was introduced to deep meditation through a local meditation group, further expanding her connection to mind, body, and spirit.
Over the years, practicing yoga and meditation with a variety of teachers, through all stages of her life and both of her pregnancies, has brought her balance, strength, and inner peace. Description
Self Awakening Yoga is an expansion of consciousness through our body's own wisdom.
This practice uses interesting, fun ways of unwinding, tapping, rolling, and thumping to mention a few. It is a practice of awakening prana, the life force, in all of us to bring awareness to and unlock any old and unserving patterns.
It's a practice of inquiry, noticing how we arrive to and through shapes. We query why I am moving this way? What do I feel? Where do I feel it?
It is thru the ASIS principle (awareness if sensation thru internal scanning) that we awaken to ways of change and begin new patterns of healing. We are encouraged to listen to the body as the wisdom unlocks thru the flow of prana, bringing a sense of balance and understanding of our relationship with the breath.
This class is for everyone.
Morning Flow: Come for an easeful yet energizing morning yoga flow. We will share ways to move your body using your breath as a guide and allowing your mind to observe sensations without judgement.
The flowing sequences will increase awareness of your circulation, strengthen your muscles and help keep your mind in the present moment. Strength, flexibility, balance and focus are the goals on and off the mat, using the energy you’ve created in your morning flow.
