Join us for a Yoga workshop to 'Open your Heart to all that is around you’ on and off the mat.
This workshop revolves around the infinite space within the centre of the heart. Through opening the front gate of the body and delving into backbends, we will explore the relationship of love, kindness and compassion, not only for others, but also for oneself. We invoke ‘Bhakti Yoga’, introducing devotion, joy, surrender and serenity, to be able to give & receive love and to connect to one's soul's purpose, to become truly centered in the heart. Our focus will lead to an affirmation of ‘I am pure love / I give and receive an abundance of Love’.
An energising asana practice to aid with opening the chest, upper back/shoulders and relieving tension in the spine and improving breath control & posture. From a psychological level we boost confidence & low self-esteem and helps to relieve anxiety and stress… an ideal antidote for modern living or the ‘office’ mind and body! Winter is nature’s season for going within, developing deep inner peace & stillness is the best motivation for beginning or deepening a regular practice of yoga and group energy catalyses this process.
Our workshop will offer the following:
- Receive health benefits of mudras (hand gestures)
- Learn mantras and meditation techniques to clear and balance the Anahata (Heart) and Vishuddha (Throat) Chakras
- Set an intention that aligns with your current circumstances for healing and opening your heart, not only on the mat, but your daily life
- A deeper understanding of ‘Bhakti’ Yoga
- Pranayama (breath control) techniques to increase lung capacity and a healthy heart
- Access the 'Flow State' through Yoga on and off the mat
- Learn the fluid and flowing Prana Flow Dancing Warrior 1008 Sun Salutations developed by Shiva Rea
- Practice connecting vinyasa drills
- Focus on breath led movement through a dynamic flow
- Attention to alignment and biomechanics of the physical body during asana with detailed verbal alignment cues and hands on assist
- Introduction of the Vayus and Chakra System – the subtle energies of the body
- Deep relaxation in Savasana with lavender eye pillows

- Mats, blocks and straps are provided in a tranquil and serene garden studio
- Beginners to yoga are welcome to join if you seek a dynamic practice, but better suited to improvers or intermediate practitioners
