Description
Welcome to a playful, supportive yoga designed for children from the age of 5 to 11 years.
In these classes, we connect movement and breath in a way that meets each child exactly where they are – whether they’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or looking to deepen their practice. Each class is designed to be fun, creative and challenging to support focus, resilience and emotional regulation. Classes will develop social skills, cooperation, mindfulness, emotional awareness, breathing exercises and guided relaxations.
Each class will begin with a check-in to encourage connection and breath awareness for grounding. We will then move onto our warm-up for joint mobility and connecting breath to movement. The main flow will include sun salutations and dynamic poses before finishing with gentle breathing practices, guided meditation and rest.
Our classes will reflect the children who attend and will be modified to ensure all children feel safe, supported and welcomed.
Please note: parents/guardians will need to stay in our waiting area if children require toilet assistance.

Russell Dempster
Originally from Fife, Scotland, with a background in fine art and design. I now live and teach yoga in the city of Glasgow. A desire for personal growth and a greater sense of fulfilment led me to discover yoga and the practice provided me with a fresh direction, focus, and a strong sense of purpose in life. This newfound passion led me to embark on a career dedicated to helping and supporting others. I had the opportunity to train under the guidance of Yogacharya Barath Shetty at IndeaYoga in Mysore, India. I received certification in Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga during my time there in 2017. This immersive experience not only refined my teaching skills but also deepened my understanding of how yoga can positively impact people of all age groups. Now, as both a student and a teacher, I am excited about the journey ahead and looking forward in continuing my learning and development.
