Marie is an experienced yoga teacher (E-RYT 500, Yoga Alliance) who has been deeply immersed in the practice of yoga for over a decade. Her path has taken her across the globe—from India to Indonesia—where she explored yoga not only as a physical discipline but as a way of living and being.
As the founder of Vaya Yoga Studio, Marie has created a welcoming space where yoga becomes a journey of self-awareness, connection, and transformation. Her classes blend the mindful precision of Hatha Yoga, the dynamic energy of Vinyasa, the deep stillness of Yin, the musicality of Inside Flow, and the functional benefits of Surf Yoga. Through this integrative approach, she supports her students in finding presence, strength, and balance—on and off the mat.
Now based in Portugal, Marie offers weekly classes, workshops, and retreats at her studio. Her teaching style is inclusive, encouraging, and rooted in the belief that yoga is for everyone. Charlotte is a 500 certified yoga teacher from Arohan Yoga (2021) and Himalayan Yoga Association (2025) in Rishikesh India, plus an additional 30hr Yoga Anatomy certification online from Laura Goellner (2023). She loves learning just as much as teaching, because to teach is to learn; so no doubt these won’t be her last certifications.
Charlotte has 4 years experience teaching and 10 years of personal practice. She loves teaching Hatha and Yin yoga, and recently has been discovering ways to incorporate fun varieties and sequences involving primal movement and mobility routines.
She believes in the importance that we should enjoy and look forward to our movement practice or exercise, instead of feeling like we need to tick it off like a chore done. Instead of focusing on the goal, she will help you take away the pressure to achieve, and fully embrace your perfectly imperfect individuality in the present moment. Just as we welcome fast paced movement, we must also balance ourselves with stillness, which can be mentally challenging for many. This is where we can benefit from Yin Yoga and accept that both are as important as the other.

Yin Yoga
Give your muscles a break and let’s target the connective tissues in the body instead such as the ligaments, tendons, and cartilage. Yin Yoga helps build flexibility in the joints; just as important for reducing risk of injuries as muscle strengthening, except how often do we allow ourselves to pause and be still instead of rushing through our stretching?
The slow pace of this class also offers your mind the space and quietness to find clarity, reduce stress and anxiety, and give your nervous system a reset. This is the space where you recharge yourself before heading back into the quick pace of life again.
You don’t need to be flexible, or have experience. The class will be totally floor based, and we will use a variety of props to support your body in each pose.

Charlotte Waugh
Charlotte is a 500 certified yoga teacher from Arohan Yoga (2021) and Himalayan Yoga Association (2025) in Rishikesh India, plus an additional 30hr Yoga Anatomy certification online from Laura Goellner (2023). She loves learning just as much as teaching, because to teach is to learn; so no doubt these won’t be her last certifications.
Charlotte has 4 years experience teaching and 10 years of personal practice. She loves teaching Hatha and Yin yoga, and recently has been discovering ways to incorporate fun varieties and sequences involving primal movement and mobility routines.
She believes in the importance that we should enjoy and look forward to our movement practice or exercise, instead of feeling like we need to tick it off like a chore done. Instead of focusing on the goal, she will help you take away the pressure to achieve, and fully embrace your perfectly imperfect individuality in the present moment. Just as we welcome fast paced movement, we must also balance ourselves with stillness, which can be mentally challenging for many. This is where we can benefit from Yin Yoga and accept that both are as important as the other.

Sabine Joseph
Sabine has been practicing yoga for more than a decade. Her journey led her to complete a 200-hour teacher training at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm in California, a school registered with Yoga Alliance. She went on to share her practice at retreat centres in Sri Lanka.
Drawn to the freedom and creativity of aerial yoga, she later completed an additional 250-hour training with the Aerial Yoga Academy, also accredited by Yoga Alliance.
Now based near Óbidos, Sabine offers aerial yoga classes at Vaya Yoga Studio. Her classes weave traditional yoga postures with the support of the hammock—ranging from grounding floor work and standing poses to flowing aerial sequences and playful inversions.
She teaches weekly group sessions at Vaya Yoga Studio and also shares her practice in other settings, including private sessions in nature. Sabine’s approach invites students to defy gravity, explore mindful movement, and reconnect with joy. Most importantly, she encourages everyone to have fun, stay curious, and embrace the freedom of flying together.

We begin with a mindful arrival, connecting to the breath, setting personal intentions, and getting comfortable with the hammock. Special attention is given to safety and building trust in the fabric as your support system, helping you feel grounded while preparing to take flight. The class flows through a series of movements supported by the hammock, combining grounding transitions with playful moments of suspension and lightness. The aerial fabric allows you to explore poses with greater freedom and ease, enhancing flexibility, building strength, and encouraging natural spinal decompression through gentle inversions. The hammock becomes a partner in your practice: offering support, inviting curiosity, and making space for both stability and exploration. We end with deep stretches and guided relaxation, cocooned in the hammock for a final moment of rest and stillness. The experience is calming, nourishing, and joyful, ideal for beginners or anyone seeking a fresh perspective on movement and mindfulness. Come as you are, and enjoy the freedom to move, float, and reconnect with your sense of play. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Aerial yoga is not recommended if you have conditions such as glaucoma, high or low blood pressure, vertigo, osteoporosis, carpal tunnel, a recent stroke or hernia, or if you've had surgery recently. Also, if you’ve had Botox within the last four hours, it’s not recommended to hang upside down.
