Yang encompasses the robust, masculine, active and muscle-oriented side of yoga. In this class we play with the different qualities of yin and yang and thus create an inner balance.

While the yang poses and movements are more focused on the muscles and provide a flexible, powerful and vital body, the yin postures are more focused on the deeper connective tissue around joints and organs and you restore the flow of energy in the meridians. Yang gives you challenge and yin stillness. The yin postures help you to turn your attention inside. You learn to relax deeply, you find the silence within yourself.

In de lessen spelen we met de verschillende kwaliteiten van yin en yang. Yang: actie, doelgericht en yin: zachtheid, overgave. Zo creëren we een innerlijke balans. Alles in het leven draait om de juiste balans. Dag en nacht, inspanning en ontspanning, goed en slecht…. Het is onmogelijk te kiezen voor maar één kant van de medaille. Ze houden elkaar namelijk in evenwicht. Het leven omvat alles. Dat geldt ook voor deze les. Yin is de zachte, vrouwelijke, receptieve en meer energetische kant van de yoga. Yang omvat de stevige, mannelijke, actieve en op spierkracht gerichte kant van de yoga. In deze les spelen we met de verschillende kwaliteiten van yin en yang en zo creëren we een innerlijke balans.

Terwijl de yang poses en bewegingen meer gericht zijn op de spieren en zorgen voor een flexibel, krachtig en vitaal lichaam, zijn de yin houdingen meer gericht op het dieper liggende bindweefsel rondom gewrichten en organen en je herstelt de stroom van energie in de meridianen. Yang geeft je uitdaging en yin verstilling. De yin houdingen, helpen je je aandacht naar binnen te keren. Je leert je diep te ontspannen, je vindt de stilte in jezelf.
