Seán O'Flaherty
Seán came to yoga through free classes in college, initially drawn by the physical practice but quickly sensing there was something deeper at play. What began as simple curiosity—what exactly is happening here?—turned into a consistent return to the mat and a six-year personal practice rooted in exploring yoga as a holistic system for both body and mind. Over time, that curiosity led him to deepen his understanding through a 200-hour teacher training in Goa with Himalaya Yoga Valley, drawn by a desire to experience the culture and tradition that shaped the practice.
His main practice has always been Ashtanga, where the rhythm and repetition of the sequence offer a kind of moving meditation he continually comes home to. His teaching is grounded, present, and quietly encouraging—an invitation to arrive as you are, without pressure, and deepen when it feels right. With a strong emphasis on alignment and awareness, Seán creates a space where students can feel connected, steady, and fully in their bodies, drawing on influences from both creative vinyasa and yin.
With a background in neuroscience, Seán approaches yoga through both a scientific and intuitive lens. Rather than separating the two, he weaves them together—grounded in the understanding that different languages are often pointing to the same experience. His classes are for those who want to move, but also want to understand; to build strength and awareness while staying connected to the bigger picture of what yoga offers.
